We are looking for a motivated individual to temporarily join our governance team (maternity cover).  

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a strong and supportive team and to undertake a key role in supporting our senior Board committees.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The Assistant Board Secretary is a key member of the governance team and is responsible for providing professional  secretarial support for our senior BSW ICB committees and groups. This involves

  • the planning and delivery of successful and efficient Board committees and similarly high-level meetings;
  • liaison with relevant Directors and Chairs; developing annual committee business plans / forward agendas;
  • monitoring and contributing to the maintenance of  the organisation’s register of interests and advising meeting Chairs re the management of conflicts of interest;
  • ensuring committees’ / groups’ compliance with the organisation’s Constitution, Standing Orders, and Scheme of Reservations and Delegations;
  • providing advice and support for committee members regarding the discharge of their duties;
  • facilitating the conduct of meetings including preparation of Chair’s briefings, meeting etiquette

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of good governance, and will have experience of supporting senior committees, both as a secretary and governance adviser.

The Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is a statutory body which brings together NHS organisations with local authorities and other partners to work to improve population health and establish shared strategic priorities. The ICB oversees how money is spent and makes sure that health services work well and are of high quality. It brings together hospitals, primary care, local councils, hospices, voluntary community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and Health watch partners in our local places: Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs, this individual will run the secretariat for 
high-profile committees and groups at BSW system and locality levels. 
The post holder will provide the professional secretariat to plan for, and deliver, successful and
