Band 5 Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) - Devizes/Salisbury

Band 5

Job overview

Applicants will need to have a Talking Therapies Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) qualification for this role. Applicants without a PWP qualification will not be considered.

Please note, we are currently operating a hybrid working approach incorporating remote working and working face-to-face, from the community and our bases in Devizes  or Salisbury.  Applicants will be expected to travel to at least one of these areas as required.

The Wiltshire Talking Therapies Service is a community based primary care psychology service working with our GP partners to provide low and high intensity therapy.

Our PWPs offer appointments to service users from our bases in Devizes and Salisbury,  and also from within GP surgeries and remotely from home.  Appointments are mainly by telephone or video call with  some  face to face appointments being offered. Our integrated working supports close clinical contacts and a team based working environment with other health professionals.

We are a friendly and supportive team with a strong focus on staff wellbeing.

The Talking Therapies Service supports flexible working, part time and extended hours which fit in with a modern health care system.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for qualified PWPs who wish to continue developing their existing skills and progress with us to provide an outstanding specialist healthcare service treating common mental health problems to our service users.

Our focus is on high quality assessment and treatments which are carefully planned to offer a structured clinical day. Clinical skills supervision, case management and line management are offered in line with Talking Therapies guidelines with extra duty support available as needed.

We also offer the opportunity for staff to get involved in specialist areas of interest as a “champion”.  Current topics covered include support for younger people, equality, diversity & inclusion, service user involvement, wellbeing, and several others.

Working for our organisation

We are the lead provider of healthcare for people with serious mental illness, learning disabilities and autism across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon and Wiltshire, and Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

We aim to provide High Quality, Compassionate Care everywhere, every day. This means our services will be safe, clinically effective and provide a positive all round experience for our patients, families and carers. And we believe passionately in treating everyone with kindness, respect and empathy.

Key to this is providing a supportive and safe environment for our 4,000 staff where we all feel welcome and able to do the best we can for those we support. Our staff and teams work incredibly hard delivering services across more than 90 locations, covering 2,200miles, to more than 1.8million people.

At AWP we actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds; we are particularly keen to encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBTQ+ community. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to AWP, as diversity makes us stronger.
