Job overview

An exciting opportunity to apply for the team Managers post of a well established Mental health liaison team providing a service to the Great western Hospital in Swindon.  This role also covers the the Care Home Liaison team serving all the Care homes in the Swindon area.

Main duties of the job

Along with the Senior Practitioners in the team to oversee the smooth running of the Mental Health Liaison and Care Home liaison teams.

Ensure that people presenting to the acute hospital with Mental health issues are assessed in a timely and comprehensive manner with appropriate signposting and safe discharge plans. 

The team serves individuals who are 18+ and will work alongside their acute care colleagues to ensure a timely and appropriate assessment.

Liaison with staff in the acute trust.

Over see the running of the MHL and CHL teams, managing a small number of staff and providing leadership to the team.  

The management of the team budget and safe and effective running of the team and supporting staff.

  • Has a relevant registration

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in managing within the mental health field
  • Experienced working in an assessment and signposting team
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working in a range of Mental health settings including Older adults
  • Experience of working collaboratively with acute colleagues

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of psychosocial assessment
  • Knowledge of legal frameworks such as the MHA and MCA
Desirable criteria
  • knowledge of different management approaches
