Are you a highly motivated and dynamic Band 6 Paediatric Nurse or SCPHN with significant Children and Young People experience wanting to join an ‘Award Winning’ team? Do you have a specialist interest in providing the best care for Children Looked After (CLA)?
We are seeking to recruit a permanent full time (37.5 hours/week) Band 6 CLA Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. You will be required to undertake complex statutory health assessments, attend safeguarding meetings and support processes within our team to enable our CLA cohort to reach their full potential.
You will have an opportunity to negotiate a flexible and agile working pattern, alongside working from home with working hours between Monday and Friday 9-5. You will have a thorough induction period and will be encouraged and supported to further your development within your role.
You must be resilient, enthusiastic, and committed to team and multi-disciplinary working. Time management skills are essential alongside strong interpersonal and communication skills demonstrating an empathetic and compassionate approach.

- To undertake high quality holistic health needs assessment with Children Looked After and young people who may have complex needs and/or who are difficult to reach, making clinical decisions and referrals as necessary as part of a self-managed caseload, thus ensuring their health needs are identified and inequalities addressed. This may necessitate working in challenging home environments and/or residential settings.
- Negotiate and develop Child Health Care Plans to meet the identified needs and promote positive lifestyle choices of looked after children in conjunction with the medical team, other named health professionals and, where indicated, the child’s parents.

The CLA Health Team
We are a team of Specialist Nurses who work in close partnership with Children, young people, their carers, Local Authorities and a multitude of health services providers to ensure that children and young people’s health needs are supported and met where possible whilst they remain in care.
The post holder will be required to undertake complex statutory health assessments, attend safeguarding meetings and support processes within our team to enable our CLA cohort to reach their full potential.

- Registered on Part 1 of the NMC register as: Registered Children’s Nurse or Part 3 as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse
- Have a minimum of three-year’s experience related to caring for babies/children & young people & relevant experience with looked after children & young people.
- Evidence of a good standard of Literacy / English language skills
