COVID-19 Vacancy Vaccination Staffing - Training & Induction Coordinator, Band 3

Band 3

Could you support your local NHS Trust to deliver Covid-19 vaccination services?

Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on lives, health and the economy. The UK Government and its medical and scientific advisors have been clear that the only safe and sustainable way out of the Covid-19 pandemic is through a vaccination programme.

In readiness for this, we are seeking people who can support our Trusts ability to adequately staff our vaccination programme. This will be the largest immunisation programme of our time. That’s why the Department for Health and Social Care recently consulted on temporary changes to legislation allowing a wider group of staff to undertake vaccination training, giving our staffing teams a larger pool of resources to work with.

Work will commence from December 2020 and anyone applying to join the staffing team to support with the vaccination programmes will need to be immediately available to join us as soon as recruitment checks have been completed, internal secondments will of course be considered.

The role of the Vaccination Programme Training and Induction Coordinator is to form successful professional relationships with Vaccination clinical and non-clinical colleagues at the point of completion of recruitment checks and guide them through training and induction alongside the Vaccination Learning and Development team. With the aim of having them compliant and confident to commence shifts within the Vaccination Programme as soon as possible, this role is pivotal to the timely roll out of covid-19 vaccines in Somerset. The role will include providing practical support to colleagues from initial training to assistance with booking their first shift within the programme.

Applicants for this role will need to be experienced in working in high pressure environments with a number of conflicting priorities. Learning and development experience is desirable but not essential, great levels of organisation and the willingness to succeed will be demonstrable qualities possessed by the successful candidate. You will also need to demonstrate your ability to rise to challenges and meet deadlines in your current or recent roles.
