Job overview

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced cashier/receptionist to join our friendly reception team, as the primary cashier on site at the Long Fox Unit in Weston-Super-Mare.

Our receptions are staffed between 09.00 - 17.00 Monday to Friday, and we are looking for a candidate with a cashiering focus to provide services from 09:00-13:00 Monday-Friday.

The role holder will also provide cover for the reception, acting as a central point of contact for our North Somerset teams.

Main duties of the job

•    Cashiering, including petty cash services, patient account administration and property safekeeping.
•    First point of contact for phone calls into the location, transferring calls, taking accurate messages and escalating as appropriate.
•    Meeting and greeting patients and visitors.
•    Advising clinicians when their patients have arrived.
•    Room bookings.
•    Opening and closing the buildings.
•    Making sure the clinic rooms have everything they need.
•    Sorting the post.
•    Signing for deliveries.
•    Reporting building defects.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be supported in your role by the North Somerset Area Site Coordinator, and passionate and friendly colleagues both in support services and the wider Facilities Management team.

The Cashier/Receptionist will provide cashier services to the inpatient wards at the Long Fox Unit, including the handling of petty cash, patient monies and property, accurate administration of patient accounts within the bespoke patient monies system, daily cash balancing, and cash ordering.

As well as providing cashier services, the post holder will also support the receptionist on site, acting as a first point of contact both face to face and over the telephone and booking rooms for staff.

In this role, the post holder will be speaking to service users, healthcare professionals, external agencies, emergency services, members of the public and more.

Training will be provided in respect of the role.
