We are looking for a highly motivated and adaptable registered pharmacists to join our small, friendly and progressive inpatient department at Weston General Hospital, which is part of UHBW.

- You will gain a wide range of experience by joining our team of rotational pharmacists and medicines management technicians providing clinical pharmacy services to a range of wards and assisting within our inpatient dispensary and aseptic unit.
- When clinical screening in patient prescriptions and providing medicines management services at ward level you will be able to utilise and develop your skills and knowledge in medicines optimisation and risk management.
- We are part of UHBW which is one of the largest teaching trusts within the South West. As part of the roles, there will be opportunities to visit, shadow and network with colleagues working in aseptics, surgery, medicine, cardiology, MI, paediatrics, oncology and ophthalmology and many others.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have:
- General Pharmaceutical Council for Pharmacists registration
- Experience of hospital pharmacy practice
- Knowledge of the legal framework for the dispensing prescribing and administration of medicines
- Good understanding of medicine and nursing practice, record keeping and terminology

We would be very happy to consider full (37.5 hours per week) or part time hours
Participate in weekend (currently Saturdays only), Bank holiday and late rotas as well as Emergency Duty Commitment (EDC), this last one after an initial four-month period. The approximate frequency of EDC is 1:20, and weekend commitments is 1:6.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- Masters degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy
- Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council for Pharmacists
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Knowledge of post registration pharmacist curriculum
Desirable criteria
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of medicines supply within the NHS
- Experience of post qualification hospital pharmacy practice
- Experience of building strong relationships across the multidisciplinary team to support patient care
- Experience of recognising opportunities for change, innovation and quality improvement
- Experience of using of digital technologies to support improved patient safety and outcomes

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
