Research Lead - Allied Health Professionals

Job overview
The post holder will work with the corporate research and innovation team in managing and coordinating research activity across AHP services at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Working under the direction of the Director of AHPs they will be responsible for leading AHPs in the development of a training and education programme to support staff involved in research projects. The post holder will be required to possess a clear overview strategically and operationally to assist in the growth of research across AHP services.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an AHP to support staff and embed an active research culture. This can be achieved by:
- Acting as the research link for AHPs
- Cascading and sharing information, updates and opportunities related to clinical research and clinical academic schemes with colleagues
- Providing a monthly research update to the AHP Service Heads
- Dedicating time to promoting clinical research and clinical academic schemes across AHP services
- Leading / chairing the AHP Research group and toe-in-the-water research clinics

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Provide evidence of continuous professional development
- Numerate and literate with good IT skills competent
Desirable criteria
- Management /leadership qualification
- Possess or be working towards an MSc in Clinical Research or health/biological related subject.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice guidelines
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Senior AHP with post registration experience in chosen specialty.
- Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentorship specifically in relation a research context
- Evidence of involvement in clinical governance agenda
- Experience of directly undertaking a range of research within an NHS organisation
- Committed to quality improvement

- Demonstrate ability to work effectively as part of the multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrable influencing skills
- Skills in managing projects and experience of presenting information to colleagues
