CAMHS Eating Disorders Nurse/Practitioner

We are looking to recruit an experienced and passionate mental health professional to work in our CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Service. We are a responsive and dynamic service that strives to provide the highest quality of care to families of children and young people struggling with eating disorders across Doncaster, Rotherham and North Lincolnshire.
You will be a skilled, hard-working and enthusiastic CAMHS Practitioner who is passionate about specialising in the field of Eating Disorders. You will have excellent clinical skills, experience of multi-agency working and delivering family-based interventions. You will be able to work independently and autonomously, and be capable of developing positive relationships with both internal and external colleagues. You should have a sound understanding of the legislation and guidance for safeguarding children and young people.
You will be based at our clinical base in Conisbrough, with some travel across the geographical footprint of the Trust..

The successful candidate in this role will provide high quality direct patient care across a variety of setting, including our clinic bases, acute hospitals or at patient homes. Appropriate training and support can be offered to ensure treatment delivered follows NICE guidance.
This role will require the successful candidate to be the primary treatment provider and case-holder for a number of families, whilst being supported by a robust, reflective and kind MDT. Our team offers regular group and individual supervision as well as monthly whole team training and time-out.

Qualifications
Meini prawf hanfodol
- A professional qualification in Mental Health at degree level or above
- Experience of working with Children, Young People & Families
- Experience or interest in working in the field of eating disorders

- Specialist Qualification in CBT, Systemic Family Practice or other therapeutic intervention
- A qualification, or have undertaken a program of formal training in Clinical Supervision
- Hold or willing to undertake a post qualification in Eating Disorder Interventions
Experience

- Demonstrable post qualification experience, including experience of working with clients with mental health problems, working with children and families in particular.
- Managing and prioritizing a complex caseload
- Experience of Multi-Disciplinary Working and organizing MDT Meeting’s
- Currently engaged in an advanced level of practice and able to demonstrate a high degree of professional autonomy
- The ability to provide patient centered assessments, care planning, therapeutic intervention formulation and evaluation of the intervention with children, young people, parents and families.
- Ability to undertake Risk Assessments and identify appropriate plans in partnerships with the young person, families and other agencies to maintain the safety of young people
- Demonstrate a high degree of skill and knowledge within the field of eating disorders

Knowledge

- Demonstrate a high level of theoretical and practical knowledge in areas of child and adolescent mental health especially within the field of eating disorders and have a sound knowledge of the changes within the field of child & adolescent mental health in-line with national drivers
- Highly competent in making a decision regarding ongoing patient care based on clinical and risk factors
- Effective communication skills with all disciplines and agencies to optimise patient management
- Awareness of own competency level and how to seek appropriate help & support when required
- Understanding of confidentiality and risk management.
- The ability to assess competency & consent in young people
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the Mental Health Act & the CPA (Care Program Approach) process
- Ability to undertake Risk Assessments and identify appropriate plans in partnerships with the young person, families and other agencies to maintain their safety within a community setting
- Have a good understanding of child protection/safeguarding policies, recording and reporting any concerns to the appropriate agency including participate in case conferences as required. .
