You will need to be passionate about meeting new people, be creative, innovative and have influencing skills. You will need to show resilience and perseverance to encourage senior leaders to adopt new ways of working and realise the full potential and benefits of the widening participation agenda.
This significant role within the learning and development team will provide support and guidance across the organisation acting as a specialist resource at a senior level.
Main duties of the job
This critical role for RDaSH will provide direction, relationship and operational service delivery leadership and management of our widening participation, induction and apprenticeship programmes. The role will take a take a trust lead on the delivery of the strategic and operational objectives to embed and expand our apprenticeship offer, and to support career pathways and maximise the utilisation of the apprenticeship levy.
The post holder will lead on the widening participation agenda by supporting community outreach work, developing meaningful route into careers within RDaSH by partnering with local schools, colleges, and job centres
The post holder will take a strategic lead in order to develop our trust wide 5 day Corporate Induction and support with workstreams to develop participation across the organisation in educational opportunities.

- Educated to a degree level (or equivalent).
- Demonstratable specialist knowledge across work procedures, underpinned by theory and experience.
- Highly specialist knowledge of apprenticeships, T-Levels, work experience and workforce development
Experience
Essential criteria
- Consolidated experience of working with Apprenticeships, work experience or widening participation team
- Experience of developing, reviewing and evaluating systems, process and career pathways
- Ability to analysis complex data sets and make judgements by comparing a range of options
- Experience of working with the Apprenticeship Levy, utilising spend and managing processes and systems in accordance with national requirements and standards
- Highly developed negotiating and influencing skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and relationship management
- Ability to manage priorities, exceptional planning and ability to respond to immediate customer needs
- Develop and maintain effective working Excellent written and oral communication skills with all groups of staff (internal and external)
- Teaching and group facilitation skills
Skills / Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and experience of project/change management tools and techniques
- Sound knowledge of the NHS Workforce agenda, NHS People Promises and national workforce employment agendas.
- Excellent IT Skills and computer literacy a sound knowledge of all Microsoft office Products and data reporting

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
