For more information please contact Dr Amanda Hendry [email protected] , Meagan McNaney [email protected]

Main duties of the job

The HDU will be a 16 bedded male High Dependency Rehabilitation Unit [Phoenix Ward] based on our Tickhill Road Site in Doncaster.

The mental health HDRU ward will provide intensive support and care for individuals with severe and complex mental health conditions who require a higher level of supervision and structured rehabilitation than is available in standard mental health units.

Patients in a HDRU often have significant challenges in daily functioning, such as difficulties with emotional regulation, cognitive impairments, or behavioural issues that impede their ability to live independently. The ward will combine therapeutic interventions, medication management, and personalised care plans aimed at stabilising patients and helping them regain skills for everyday living. The ultimate goal is to improve their mental health, promote recovery, and eventually transition them to less intensive care settings or community living.

The post holder will be a leading member of a MDT benefiting from Clinical Psychology, Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietician, Housing support, Speech and Language therapy, Peer support and Nursing input.
