Job overview
We are looking for 4 volunteers to assist with events, workshops and groups to support promise 17 and school readiness within the Children's Care Group.
Please find attached role description for more information.
Main duties of the job
To support events, workshops and groups around the Doncaster area and North Lincolnshire in a variety of sessions, including local authority family Hubs, community buildings, early years settings and schools.
Volunteer duties include:
- Meet & greet service users, partner agencies depending on the type of event or workshop.
- Assist with setting up and taking down equipment, including IT equipment.
- Ensuring that the health and safety, risk assessments are adhered to.
- Provide admin support for events, workshops and sessions including registrations, information packs, ID badges etc.
- Engage with children, young people and families at the events, workshops or group sessions by handing out resources.
- Assist with child development activities.
- Provide occasional light information about the service and school readiness agenda to anyone that enquires and refer them to the correct member of staff should they have any questions that need a more in-depth response.
- Issuing care opinion cards to promote service user feedback.

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
