An exciting opportunity has come available for a Volunteer Driver to transport staff and patients to and from appointments in the surrounding area of Doncaster.

The volunteer is required to work within the list of tasks identified as follows:

• Provide transport for people wishing to get to appointments, This may be to access health appointments, to participate in an activity or to assist in-patients with home leave.

• Offer reassurance and engage in conversation as appropriate during the journeys

  • Report any concerns to the Supervisor / Service Manager.

Please note: Mileage and out of pocket expenses will be covered, proof of a clean driving licence, insurance and MOT is essential for this role. 

Main duties of the job

·         Able to follow instructions

·         Tidy and methodical

·         To be punctual and reliable

·         Interest in working with people with mental health conditions and/or dementia, and/or physical health needs

·         Ability to communicate with a range of people with diverse needs

·         To adhere to the dress code for the area in which they volunteer. To aid recognition by staff, patients, service users and visitors you must wear your ID badge at all times.

·         Be able to work as a member of a team.
