An exciting volunteer opportunity has become available within the Doncaster Adult Mental Health Care Group for three activity/entertainment coordinator volunteers to provide activity support and creative entertainment (e.g. Singing, music, arts & crafts etc) to service users on the inpatient wards.

As a volunteer, we require your positive energy, creative skills, and commitment to help us to enhance the experience for our patients, visitors and staff.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to make a unique and valuable contribution to our Trust by supporting our inpatient units with creative activities and entertainment to enhance the experience of service users whilst on the ward.

Main duties of the job

Volunteers might be expected to engage with the following:

·         Engaging with activities with a range of people currently in hospital for either acute mental health difficulties or dementia.

·         Use own skills in a creative outlet to provide activity and entertainment to patients on the wards (singing/playing an instrument/crafts/knitting etc)

·         Be able to tailor their approach to work with the patients at their level of functioning.

  • To be flexible in their delivery and adapt if patient preference changes.
