Senior Support Worker - Apprenticeship Opportunity

NHS AfC: Band 3

Job overview

The aim of this role within the SMI (Serious Mental Illness) pathway of the Specialist Forensic and Community Wellbeing team is to bridge the gap between primary and secondary mental health care: providing accessible primary care level mental health interventions to the population of North Lincolnshire.

We are committed to establishing our service within the wider Primary Care Networks and have colleagues embedded in GP surgeries. Expanding this is the focus of our service. We welcome applicants who feel they have the drive, skills and expertise to continue this further development.

If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].

As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation.  Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.  This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to join our team as Senior Support Worker.

We are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and highly organised mental health professional to provide high quality healthcare support under the direction of the Nursing team and Allied Health Professionals for patients within a primary care setting.

The role of a Senior Support Worker within the  Specialist Forensic and Community Wellbeing  Team will require skills in physical health,  performing physical observations and physical health checks, as well as skills and experience in working with adults experiencing mental health problems.

The role of a Senior Support Worker within the Specialist Forensic and Community Wellbeing Team would involve working primarily in the SMI pathway completing physical health checks. The role of senior support worker will include working across the pathways where needed and working as part of an integrated team to deliver interventions in line with the primary care model.
