Permanent |Part Time The post is for 33.75 hours per week.
We are looking for a compassionate, motivated individual to join our dynamic Early Years Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the early intervention sensory service to young children with emerging needs through a test and learn approach.
You will work with experienced AHPs in a collaborative team. The role is focussed in working in the community, so a valid UK driving licence and access to a car is necessary.
About You

A Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration and extensive experience working in a community paediatric setting.

Compassionate, respectful, and accountable in your approach

Passionate about supporting young children with emerging sensory needs and providing holistic care to them, their families and carers.

Confident in delivering therapeutic support at all levels of a graduated approach.

Skilled in developing a therapeutic relationship with all involved in the child's care to deliver meaningful family-centred outcomes.
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Early Years Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

Delivering specialist assessment, advice, and management for children with sensory processing difficulties.

Take the lead on complex cases, provide advanced clinical input, and share your expertise through training and inter-agency collaboration.

Be an autonomous practitioner at the forefront of paediatric sensory care.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- BSc in Occupational Therapy or Dip COT
- HCPC Registration
- Relevant post graduate courses / CPD in sensory processing.
- Portfolio evidence of reflective practice
Desirable criteria
- MSc in Paediatric Occupational Therapy or other relevant MSc
- Member of CYPF
- Research qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant and relevant post graduate experience in paediatric mental health / Sensory Processing / autism spectrum disorders
- Community / lone worker experience
- Appraisal / supervision / teaching of more junior staff
- Standardised Assessment tools
- Outcome measures
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in or alongside education settings
- Active involvement in relevant special interest groups, local OT sub-groups or voluntary organisations
