Job overview

Permanent | Part Time

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Paediatric Sleep Disorders Service as a Specialist Sleep Nurse. This is a fantastic role for an experienced and motivated nurse with a passion for paediatric sleep medicine and narcolepsy.

You will be joining a growing, enthusiastic multidisciplinary team dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis and management of sleep disorders in both typically developing children and those with neurodevelopmental conditions. Our service is rapidly developing, and you will play a key role in shaping high‑quality care for children and families across the region.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in paediatrics and a strong interest in sleep medicine and/or narcolepsy

  • Has completed, or intends to complete, recognised sleep training through a credible course

  • Is self‑motivated, flexible, hard‑working and eager to learn

  • Enjoys being part of a dynamic and expanding team

  • Has excellent communication skills and a commitment to ongoing professional development

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Clinical Nurse Specialist Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver developmentally appropriate specialist nursing care across inpatient, outpatient, daycare, community and educational settings.

  • Plan, implement and evaluate complex specialist care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, using pathways and a range of methods including nurse‑led clinics, telephone advice and home visits.

  • Provide guidance, supervision and support to colleagues and students through appraisal, teaching and clinical supervision.
