Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated housekeeper to work at Edmund Road, Sheffield covering Older Adult Community Mental Health Team and Older Adults Home Treatment Team. We are interested in hearing from individuals who are willing to work hard within a friendly team. This is a part-time post working 2 hours 15 minutes per morning from Monday to Friday; there will be some flexibility to the time to suit the successful applicant.
Main duties of the job
- General cleaning of all corridors and working areas within the site.
- Following work schedules, which includes the opening or locking up of the building, the emptying of bins, hoovering of rooms and corridors, cleaning of toilets, shower room and clinical areas, the cleaning of carpets and the washing of walls.
- Disposal of all rubbish following Trust Policies and guidelines.
- Following all Trust Policies and guidance relevant to the role.
- Request cleaning materials and keeping adequate stock levels.
- To carry out duties having due regards for infection control, Health and Safety and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Regulations.
- To ensure products, equipment and materials are used appropriately and in the correct manner to ensure safe cleaning and the best results.

Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Basic Knowledge of Health & Safety
- Previous Knowledge or experience in housekeeping duties or similar work
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in healthcare setting
- Previous knowledge of COSHH
Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Basic IT Skills
Desirable criteria
- NVQ level 1 & 2 Cleaning/Housekeeping
- Health and Safety certificate

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
