Clinical Administrator
NHS AfC: Band 3
About us
At Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust we provide a range of mental health, learning disability, substance misuse, primary care and other specialist services designed around the needs of people in our city.
We have a dedicated and skilful team of people caring in Sheffield, which you could become a part of.
Our values are at the heart of everything we do. These are: working together for our service users, respect and kindness, everyone counts, commitment to quality, improving lives.
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Administrator to join our established administration team in the Urgent & Crisis Service based in Sheffield.
Our team prides itself on being a group of experienced, supportive, and motivated individuals, with the ability to motivate and influence others, suggest, and implement ideas to improve service performance and efficiency.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive Clinical Administration support service to our multi-disciplinary team of professionals. The primary function of the role will be the initial point of contact for service users, professionals and carers contacting for mental health support and guidance. This will then lead on to the associated administrative tasks relating to these calls, which will include taking clear factual notes for inputting onto the electronic patient record, therefore listening skills are of paramount importance for the role.
You should be enthusiastic about the challenges of working in a busy environment and can remain calm under pressure. Additionally, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, be motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and able to work with other partnership agencies.
The postholder will be expected to work on a shift pattern as follows: 0800-1600, 1000-1800, 1200-2000 and 1400-2200. Shifts will be completed as one full week of the same hours, Monday to Friday although flexibility is to be expected to cover in times of sickness absence, annual leave and study leave.
Please ensure you read the job description and person specification thoroughly to ensure you meet the criteria for application.
Working for our organisation
At SHSC, we prioritise the well-being and safety of both our service users and employees. It is our policy and a condition of employment that all employees must join the DBS Update Service. This service carries an annual fee, which employees are responsible for paying up front. However, employees may claim this cost back through the Trust's Employee Expenses Reimbursement Policy. For those requiring a Basic DBS check, it is necessary to register for a DBS Online Account.
