Job overview

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Admin Assistant to join our Integrated Community Care Directorate. In this pivotal role, you will provide essential support to our Assessment Team within Active Recovery, ensuring smooth operations while delivering outstanding service to patients, carers, and colleagues.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with administrative experience to contribute to the continuous improvement of our administrative services. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, resourceful, and customer-focused, thriving in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

While prior experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is beneficial, it is not essential. If you are a motivated professional with strong organisational skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for making a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

This is a vital role within our Integrated Community Care Directorate by providing essential support to the Assessment Team within Active Recovery. Our roles are diverse, fast-paced, and rewarding, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to patient outcomes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

Prioritise and organise own day-to-day work schedule, completing work within agreed timescales. 

Exercise discretion and maintain a high standard of confidentiality, communication and interpersonal skills including telephone enquiries. 

Maintain staff employment records and ensure any changes in an employees’ details are included in their personal file. 

While previous administration experience would be beneficial, we are primarily seeking individuals with a genuine passion for working in healthcare and a proactive, "can-do" attitude, with strong communication skills to effectively support the Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will join a friendly, supportive, and collaborative team that values the contributions of all staff.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE in English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • OCR II in Word Processing or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Processing/typing or equivalent experience/ qualifications.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Appropriate experience in an administrative role within an office environment.
  • Experience of working in a public facing role.
  • Experience of initiating and setting up monitoring systems to record appropriate information.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within a healthcare setting.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of data protection issues and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to deal with staff at all levels.

Knowledge
