A vacancy has arisen for a Stroke Data Coordinator to work within the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP).

The Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) is a major national healthcare quality improvement programme. SSNAP measures the quality and organisation of stroke care in the NHS and is the single source of stroke data in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The Integrated Geriatric and Stroke Medicine Directorate is a large Clinical Directorate (Budget of £25 Million) that incorporates the acute Geriatric and stroke wards on the NGH and RHH sites and the Community Stroke Service CSS.

The role of the Directorate is to provide seamless integrated care to Geriatric and Stroke patients in Sheffield. Care extends from admission, inpatient stay, through to integrated care beds and long term follow up in the Community.

Main duties of the job

 

The post holder will provide a comprehensive and flexible administrative service to ensure timely and accurate input of data to the SSNAP database.

They will be responsible for abstracting and analysing patient clinical information and producing reports for Senior Managers, MDT Leads and the Clinical Director.  

The post holder will prioritise work according to changing demands and trust targets.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE (or equivalent experience/ qualifications) in English and Mathematics, at grade C/4 or above.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • European Computer Driving Licence/RSA/ICR III or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
  • Processing/typing or equivalent experience/ qualifications.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information
  • Previous office/administrative experience in an NHS environment

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of inputting and retrieving information from databases
  • Basic understanding of patient access policies.
  • Evidence of Managing/leading people/staff.
  • Experience of working with data and/or databases.
  • Experience of initiating and setting up monitoring systems to record appropriate information.
  • Experience of working within a busy office environment
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge and understanding of clerical procedures within a large organisation
  • Experience of working within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of the Stroke pathway
  • Experience of using Lorenzo/Infoflex
  • Previous experience of MDT processes and procedures

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of / experience of using information and/or customer service systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Desirable criteria
  • High level of Customer Care/Service skills demonstrated by course or experience.
  • Previous experience of Patient Systems: SystmOne (area specific software).
