Job overview

The Andrology department has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and reliable individual to join this service. This position is instrumental in providing telephone and administrative support. You will need to be a confident and professional communicator with patients and colleagues and have a good aptitude for using a variety of IT systems.

Main duties of the job

Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries in a professional manner in accordance with local and national procedures

Provide a friendly and efficient reception of patients 

Book appointments for diagnostic semen analysis, vasectomy clearance testing and cryopreservation for oncology patients, using RAS, Connect EPR and IDEAS

Reconcile clinics

Input test results onto APEX

Scan documents to IDEAS

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent); 5 GCSE (or equivalent) to include English & Maths at grade C/4 or above
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL
  • NVQ Level 2 Administration Customer Care

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience providing clerical and telephone support in a busy patient focused environment
  • Experience of using a range of IT Systems
  • Experience of using judgement to solve problems
  • Experience of following standard operating procedures.
Desirable criteria
  • Use of Connect or other hospital patient database
  • Use of APEX
  • Use of ICE
  • Working in a laboratory environment
