Job overview
We are looking to recruit a Chargehand Driver, the post holder will be responsible for managing the Transport team in the delivery of transport services on a day to day basis.
Other duties will include; participating in all patient movement duties when required, carrying out annual Individual Performance Reviews with staff, identifying training and development needs and receiving and signing for parcels, including medical records and specimens re collection.
Main duties of the job
Ensure the Transport service runs smoothly and efficiently.
To support the compilation of duty rotas and work schedules, ensuring effective deployment of staff at short notice ie Urgent Covid / Sample collections,
To ensure staffing levels are provided to cover all Transport requirements, making the Transport manager aware of any potential difficulties.
Liaise with Heads of departments, GP surgery managers, Matrons and Site managers regarding provision of the Transport Services and direct staff duties. Act on behalf of Facilities out of hours, under the direction of the site manager in charge.
Respond to incident calls to support the Trust’s emergency response teams as required

- Educated to GCSE grade 4 / C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent or relevant experience)

- Experience of dealing with the public.
