An exciting opportunity has arisen within the GRaDE Care Group to provide the Operations Director with a professional, comprehensive, and efficient personal assistant service that promotes excellence to both internal and external stakeholders.

This full-time role is based at the Northern General Hospital; however, requests for flexible working arrangements will be considered to support a healthy work-life balance.

 

Main duties of the job

As the Personal Assistant, you will require excellent communication and organisational skills to manage and prioritise the Operations Director’s workload effectively, ensuring their time is optimally utilised in alignment with the Trust’s priorities. You will build a close working relationship with the Operations Director and act as a key liaison with Clinical and Executive management teams across the organisation.

In addition to providing high-level PA support, the role offers involvement in a wide range of administrative tasks and projects. This variety is designed to provide you with a dynamic work experience and opportunities for personal and professional development.

This is a high-profile and pivotal role within the service, and we invite applications from confident, organised individuals with previous PA experience in either the health sector or a corporate office environment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, determined, and committed to public service and enhancing patient experience.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE level (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths or equivalent experience / qualifications
  • OCR III word processing or or equivalent qualifications
  • Excel
  • Diploma in Business Administration (level 4), or, experience in business administration that would equate to level 4, or, NVQ3 qualification plus other short courses (e.g. ILM3, ECDL)'

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant PA or secretarial experience
  • Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge and understanding of clerical procedures within a large organisation
  • Experience of Microsoft office packages, especially Word, Excel including Pivot tables and PowerPoint
  • Experience of audio typing and real time minute taking
  • Experience of implementing and managing processes for filtering and prioritising large volumes of email traffic for multiple staff members
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of staff management
  • Experience of providing PA experience to senior managers within the NHS
  • Knowledge of ESR and PALMS
