Job overview
An exciting job share opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior pharmacist with a keen interest in medicines governance and community services and the ability to lead, inspire, innovate and manage service change and staff.
The successful applicant will work alongside the existing Head of Medicines Management following a reduction in hours to lead and deliver the medicines management strategy for community services across Sheffield.
The successful applicant must be a registered pharmacist with a post graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent with experience in working at a senior level and an in depth understanding of pharmacy risk and governance issues.
You will have excellent time management, communication and prioritisation skills and the ability to manage your workload independently. You will need to collaborate with a wide range of colleagues across community, hospital and social care on complex issues.
You will also need to be approachable, adaptable and willing to learn new skills.
Main duties of the job
To lead clinical pharmacy, particularly in palliative care and non-medical prescribing and supply of administration of medicines in the community, under the direction of the Chief Pharmacist and in liaison with the Deputy Chief Pharmacist (Clinical).
To lead on all aspects of pharmacy governance for Community Services, in close liaison with the Pharmacy Healthcare Governance Manager and Chief Pharmacist.
To provide leadership within Community Services regarding development and implementation of non physician prescribing (including independent pharmacist prescribing).
To plan for and develop strategic initiatives relating to the provision of clinical pharmacy functions in Community Services and ensure services are delivered to a high quality in a safe and cost-effective manner in accordance with relevant legislation
To provide professional leadership to the operational clinical pharmacists and medicine management technicians in delivering a comprehensive pharmacy service to patients and staff within Community Services.
To provide line management responsibilities for the Community services medicines management team.
