Job overview
The post holder will provide professional and functional management of the Security Service across the Trust. The post holder will develop and maintain policies and procedures to enable the delivery of a cost effective, safe and efficient Security Service.
Main duties of the job
Develop, implement and monitor the Trusts Security Strategy, taking cognisance of national and NHS initiatives.
Review departmental procedures & working arrangements across the Trust to ensure consistency.
Ensure mandatory, JSET and service specific security training is provided for all Trust staff.
Ensure systems are in place to report and record all security incidents which occur within the Trust grounds/to Trust staff whilst on duty.
Seek redress through the Criminal and Civil Justice system where appropriate against those whose actions lead to the loss of NHS resources
Ensure the efficient day to day running of the security service.
Provide leadership, support and advice for the Deputy Security Manager in ensuring the provision of a professional security service for the Trust.
Investigate all reported security incidents

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) experience that demonstrates competency at this level. Relevant security qualifications ideally.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Ability to provide professional and functional management of security services (P&C).
- Experience of staff management. Knowledge of governance operational risks
- In-depth knowledge of Security Management
- Evidence of keeping up to date on security management affairs/legislation/best practice
Desirable criteria
- Ability to use security experience to ensure partnership working with key stakeholders
- Ability to influence, persuade and deliver change
- Experience of working across functions and departments at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience in producing staff approval/development plans
Skills
