An exciting opportunity has arisen within Surgical Services for a Matron for the Clinical Nurse Specialists teams.

Main duties of the job
This is a highly complex role which requires passion and drive, working within the framework of the Matron principles. Your key role will be to ensure clinical quality standards are achieved by providing inspirational and visible clinical leadership to the clinical nurse specialist teams working within the sphere of the Directorates vision and values.
The role is based within the acute hospital setting but as patient pathways and services develop, links to the community may emerge.
The role of matron is intrinsic to the success of the patient pathway; working with multidisciplinary teams and leading the highly skilled nursing workforce to provide a quality service which leads to a positive patient experience.

- NMC Registered Nurse
- First Degree or relevant experience
- Post Graduate Qualification (Level 7) in a relevant field
- Clinical skills appropriate to area of responsibility
- Evidence of relevant professional/management development

- Significant experience at Band 7 in the speciality
- Evidence of relevant professional/management development.
