An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 Specialist Recovery Workers to join our teams across Buckinghamshire on a 12 month full-time fixed-term contract!

You  will ensure the engagement of hard to reach service users with substance use issues into treatment, completing relevant engagement work, assessments and referring to local services to ensure continuity of care.

Working  within a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team, in a community environment delivering a high standard drug and alcohol recovery services in response to the needs of the service users as part of Inclusion and Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work in partnership with key agencies to ensure multi-agency care planning for service users, supporting their individual recovery journeys and those entering treatment remain in treatment.

The successful candidate will deliver a range of psycho-social interventions appropriate to the individual to motivate engagement and promote entering and remaining in treatment, whilst supporting service users to achieve recovery and positive outcomes, improve health & well-being outcomes, reduce re-offending / anti-social behaviour and reduce impact on other services.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To deliver a strengths-based, recovery orientated and outcome-focussed link service for all service users who are hard to engage into One Recovery Bucks with a particular emphasis on high standards and good practice (in accordance with the Blue Light Manual).
  • To provide this cohort with practical support, information and guidance on relevant issues i.e. physical and mental health signposting, housing, debt / benefits and education, training and employment (ETE), providing and maintaining accurate records of advice and support given.
  •  Ensure appropriate and effective risk management plans are in place for each service user, taking into consideration planning around safeguarding including risks of abuse and exploitation. 
  • To use strengths-based approaches including mapping techniques and relevant paperwork in order to carry out initial screening assessments.
  • To carry out further assessments when required that includes strengths-based node-link mapping techniques and recovery planning.
  • To work with a range of partnership agencies to co-ordinate planning and support for care in particular, to develop close links with Hospitals (High Intensity Users Groups), GPs, Adult Social Care, Mental Health, RSI/Housing, Probation / CRC, Police and other partnership agencies.
