We are delighted to offer an opportunity to join Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialty Doctor within our Sexual Health service. 

In Burton the sexual health service operates from a hub based at the Branston clinic, delivering level 3 GUM and CASH services together. The clinic has around 700 patient attendances per month. Level 1 and 2 services are delivered through peripheral spokes as well as outreach in further education and community settings. We are also commissioned to provide HIV services from the Branston hub. 

As well as core clinical provision, we deliver non-clinical outreach and health promotion working closely with local colleges, schools and community venues and a condom distribution scheme. Service users can access postal testing kits through an online portal

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality evidence based holistic care for patients with sexual health needs.

There are ample opportunities for service improvement, personal and professional development, management, research and teaching. The appointee will be supported to undertake additional duties according to skills and areas of interest, with appropriate recognition in the job plan.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Holds Diploma of the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DCSRH)
  • Evidence of qualification or meaningful intention to prioritise early in post
  • Primary medical qualification
  • Full GMC registration and licence to practice
Desirable criteria
  • Dip GUM
  • MCSRG/FCSR

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
