We are offering you a fantastic development opportunity as a Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist to join our dynamic Podiatry Team in South Staffordshire! 

Our team has worked to successfully develop and implement our Gold Standard Podiatry Service that prioritises patient care, boasts exceptional outcomes, and has received exceptional feedback from both patients and peers.  

You will be able to make a real impact within our service by collaborating with well-established multidisciplinary teams in the community. Utilising your excellent interpersonal and communication skills you will drive initiatives to improve and enhance outcomes for patients. 

The role requires flexibility to work in a variety of locations across the South Staffordshire district. You will hold a Health Care Professions Council registration and will require access to a car and a valid driver's license.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide professional and clinical support and leadership to all staff 
  • Develop to take a lead in the management of complex cases within the field of diabetes / wound management, supporting other staff and co-working when needed 
  • Working with service users to develop outcome focused treatment / support plans 
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships both within the organisation and external organisations 
  • Be supported to provide teaching and training in our specialist area to the wider workforce 
  • Be involved with and be prepared to take the lead in clinical audit / research

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Podiatry or equivalent
  • Relevant Specialist Post Graduate qualifications and/or /courses and/or /development (e.g. professionally recognised courses in a specialist area).
  • Up to date field work/pre-registration student training
  • Evidence of Continued professional development since graduation
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of further clinical study since graduation
  • Modules at Masters level
  • Further clinical study relevant to clinical practice such as management of long term conditions e.g. diabetes, rheumatology, biomechanics

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience to the role including assessment and management of various conditions within an area of a clinical speciality
  • Supporting service users, families and carers in dealing with issues within the area of clinical speciality
  • Working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of negotiation and conflict management in clinical situations
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of negotiation and conflict management in clinical situations
