Are you passionate about supporting people on their recovery journey? We are looking for a Recovery Coordinator (Band 5) to join our well-established Drug and Alcohol Services team. This is a key role in delivering structured treatment and recovery support for individuals affected by substance misuse, including those prescribed opioid substitution therapy (OST).

What You'll Do Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, including those prescribed OST. Complete comprehensive assessments, risk management plans, and recovery plans. Deliver structured psychosocial interventions (PSI) and facilitate group work. Conduct regular care planning and reviews in line with national guidance. Work closely with multi-agency partners to provide holistic support. Contribute to safeguarding processes and risk escalation where required.

What We're Looking For

Experience in substance misuse services or related health/social care settings. Strong understanding of recovery-focused approaches and harm reduction. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to manage complex caseloads and work collaboratively with partners. Knowledge of national guidance and clinical governance requirements.

Main duties of the job

  • Provision of drug & alcohol treatment to Service Users within the locality.
  •  Holding a caseload of service users and being responsible for offering a range of interventions to those individuals.
  • Supporting service users through their treatment journey from beginning to end
  • Embracing the concept of recovery and demonstrating this in your clinical work
  • Ensuring that your work is evidence based, up to date and in accordance with current policy and legislation.
  • Keeping up to date and accurate records and documentation.

  • Provide harm reduction advice, information, and support with an emphasis on safer drug use, safer sex, HIV, Hepatitis A, B and C and other blood borne infections   
  • Be responsible for maintaining a full case load of complex clients as the key worker.
  • To develop and sustain links with multi-disciplinary services including statutory and non-statutory providers of Tier 2,3,4 drug services, criminal justice services and providers of wrap around services.
  • To keep up to date records and information for the purpose of internal and external evaluation.
  • To provide information and statistics consistent with the Drug Action Team (DAT) and Inclusion’s requirements.
  • To participate in regular supervision.
  • To take part in annual appraisal and review based on the NHS knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF)  
  • To attend relevant internal and external meetings.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Foundation Degree / HNC in related field which may include counselling, social work, nursing, psychology, human resources, social studies or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Considerable experience of working with drug users
  • Experience of working with techniques such as CBT, Motivational interviewing, and Solution focused therapy

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.
