An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our service as Team Attached Administrator to our North Alliance Admin Team at Fenton Health Centre.

The main duties of the role will be to provide administrative support to the community nursing teams across the North Alliance Portfolio. Working under the supervision of the Admin Team Co-ordinator the Community Nursing Admin role will support clinical teams by ordering and preparing clinical supplies for delivery to patients. 

To apply, you will need to have a good level of education (including English and Maths) and RSA Stage II Word Processing / Text Processing or equivalent experience. This post will involve regular VDU use, proficient use of various Microsoft office packages (i.e. word, excel, outlook, calendars) and audio typing equipment.  Knowledge/use of the NHS Rio system is desirable, however, full training will be given as required.

As a person, you will need to be self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise your daily workload whilst also managing your working time effectively. You will be able work independently as well as being a good team player, with excellent communication and accuracy skills.

 

Main duties of the job

To provide general administrative services to support the smooth running of clinical services including:

  • To liaise with other administrative and health professionals including: carers, service users and GP’s ensuring that suitable action is taken regarding clinicians requests for patient specific information.
  • Follow Local access point, ambulatory clinic and District Nurse triage guidelines/ standard operating procedures and work with clinical colleagues to ensure patients are directed to correct services in a timely fashion.
  • Working to rules and protocols accurately book planned clinical appointments using the RIO and ECOMM systems.
  • Maintaining and updating clinical systems accurately.
  • Provide data and reports in a timely manner to Clinical Staff when required, maintaining and updating the clinical systems accurately. 
  • Maintaining effective stock control for ONPOS, general, pharmacy, pathology and continence supplies  
  • Prepare all orders for clinical staff for delivery or collection; this must be complete before the patient’s next visit. 
  • Collate and maintain the Equipment log inventory for the calibration of nursing equipment.
  • To contribute to the collection and inputting of data required to support the outcomes for the service, including maintaining of spread sheets/databases and undertaking basic quality checks where required.

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education including English and Maths at GCSE Grade C or equivalent or Functional skills (English and Maths) Level 2
  • ECDL/CLAIT IT qualification or equivalent

  • Previous Health and Social Care Experience
