Final year student applications welcome.
An opportunity has become available in the North Unplanned care service for a permanent Level 1 Social worker. We need a resilient and dynamic individual to join the experienced and enthusiastic team.
The work is varied and challenging and will focus on pathway 1 of the D2A service. The core work will be undertaking statutory assessments in complex situations so knowledge of Mental Capacity and Continuing Health Care legislation is needed, knowledge of safeguarding adults will also be an advantage.

The successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team including nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and support staff, based at Leek Moorlands hospital. The team also works closely with external partners such as the Integrated Care board and Staffordshire County Council. The work is on a short-term basis and cases are usually closed within 12 weeks; this means the successful individual will need to be able to work at pace and be able to move between competing priorities.
This is an ideal opportunity for any individual who is going to qualify this year or are newly qualified and wants to work within an unplanned care setting and access a variety of training via the social work learning academy (SWLA). There will be an expectation that the ASYE is completed within the first 2 years of employment and upon completion of the ASYE a “my time meeting” can be arranged to consider progression to band 6, if performing at that level.
