Main duties of the job

The Dental Nurse role will provide full clinical support associated with the needs of the Community Dental Service. They are responsible for the daily operational procedures of their designated clinics. They will work alongside the Dental Surgeon and as part of a dedicated team.

The Dental Nurse can be required to travel between centres and assist with numerous dental surgeons. Evening, weekend and bank holiday working is also required working within the out of hours emergency dental service.

 In summary, these are the things that you will have:

National Examination Board for Dental Nurses or NVQ Level 3.

GDC Registration.

Evidence of continual professional development.

An understanding of the issues relating to the dental needs of the population of Staffordshire.

Experience of working in the GDS.

Experience of wide range of patient groups.

Experience of working as part of a team.

Experience of organising and maintaining dental surgery/surgeries.

Experience of good infection control and decontamination procedures.

Competent clinical skills across a wide range of clinical procedures.
