Job overview
Production Manager - Technical Services
Fixed term until July 2026
We are looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our well established team in Pharmacy Technical Services to cover the secondment of one of the Production Managers.
The MHRA licenced ‘Specials’ pharmacy manufacturing unit is based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and is a modern purpose built unit within the hospital. The service encompasses aseptic, chemotherapy and pre-pack (over labelling and repackaging products) supplying both the Trust and external organisations. As a department we constantly strive to re-engineer our services to improve our delivery of patient focused pharmaceutical care and customer satisfaction.
Main duties of the job
Working with the Production Manager you will proactively contribute to further develop the service through audit and the development of business cases in response to local and national demand in line with the NHS Infusions and Specials Medicines Board. Supported by our Quality Team you will assist in the operation of, maintenance of and development of the quality management system and help to prepare for and participate in any inspections and audits undertaken by the MHRA or other regulatory authority.
The post holder will manage, along with the production manager and lead technicians, the production unit providing technical support and guidance. Once trained you will act as a releasing officer, across all production areas, ensuring compliance with the terms of the MHRA licence at all times.
