Job overview

The successful candidate will work as a Senior Staff Nurse for Quality within an established team delivering, monitoring and evaluating current care, whilst participating in the development of new ways of working and practices both clinical and administrative to enhance the excellent service we currently provide. 

Main duties of the job

The Quality Nurse on the Elective Surgical Unit will play a key role in maintaining and improving patient care standards. 

The role will focus on ensuring high standards of patient care, safety and clinical effectiveness.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Main duties include:

  • Clinical Governance & Patient Safety  including compliance with infection control, medication safety and clinical policies. Leading root cause analysis, investigations or near misses. Monitoring audit results.
  • Staff Training and development. Providing training and education and supporting students and allocating assessors/supervisors. 
  • Patient experience and Satisfaction. Gathering feedback. Leading patient- focused initiatives to improve the elective surgery experience.
  • Data Management and Reporting.  Collecting and analysing key performance indicators (KPI's) such as infection rates, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with legal standards.

  • Experience of supporting the ward and working alongside the senior team.

  • 3 Years plus experience
