AHP Professional Lead

We are seeking an experienced and values‑driven Allied Health Professions (AHP) Professional Lead to provide strategic and professional leadership across the CYP Mental Health & Perinatal Services.

This is a senior leadership role focused on professional governance, workforce development and care group level leadership. You will play a pivotal role in shaping high‑quality, safe and effective AHP practice aligned with Trust, ICS and national priorities, including prevention, population health, health inequalities and the Greener NHS agenda.

Working closely with the Director & Associate Director of AHPs, Care Group leadership teams and system partners, you will:

  • Lead the professional vision and strategic direction for nurses across CYP Mental Health and Perinatal Services
  • Provide visible, compassionate and inclusive leadership that embeds Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
  • Strengthen professional governance, standards, supervision and workforce sustainability
  • Influence service transformation, integrated neighbourhood working and evidence‑based improvement
  • Act as the senior AHP voice at Care Group, organisational and system level

The post holder will maintain professional registration and provide occasional expert clinical advice where required to support professional credibility.

We are looking for a registered AHP with senior experience, strong understanding of professional governance and workforce leadership, and the ability to influence across complex systems. Experience of leading change, quality improvement and partnership working is essential.

  • Provide strategic and professional leadership for AHPs across CYP Mental Health, CYP Learning Disability services, CYP Autism services & Perinatal Mental Health, shaping high quality, safe and effective practice aligned with Trust and ICS priorities.
  • Lead AHP workforce development, professional governance, compassionate and inclusive leadership, and embed Trust values, equality, diversity, inclusion & belonging.
  • Drive transformation aligned with national, regional and local strategy including Prevention & Public Health, Greener NHS/Sustainability, and population health improvement.
  • Represent the professional AHP voice at care group, organisation, system, regional and national levels.
  • Maintain professional registration and provide limited clinical expertise where required; the post is primarily leadership focused.
  • Provide professional leadership and oversight of AHP governance across the Care Group, maintaining high standards of practice, regulatory compliance and professional accountability to ensure safe, effective and evidence‑based services.
