Job overview
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Children and Families Mental Health Leadership Team as Team Leader - CAMHS Early Years Service.
We are seeking an highly motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse or Health Visitor with the drive and passion to lead and develop CAMHS Early Years to have a positive impact on their experiences and outcomes. This post offers a great opportunity for an experienced, child focussed clinician to develop and enhance their leadership skills in the specialist field of Children’s Mental Health.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for:
- Operational leadership and delivery of services to the multi-disciplinary teams within CAMHS Early Years Team.
- The deployment, day-to-day management, supervision and co-ordination of designated staff. To be responsible for monitoring sickness, annual leave, flexitime arrangements, appraisal, personal development planning and informal disciplinary matters.
- For ensuring performance within designated trust standards including clinical, key performance indicators and financial management targets and with the support of the Service Manager, will hold responsibility for the management of the service budget.
- Maintaining own clinical competencies to support clinical leadership and team performance by working clinically as and when appropriate.
Main duties of the job
- To undertake a range of management tasks, including but not limited to; recruitment and selection processes, performance management, appraisal, managing attendance and staff development
- To work in partnership with own team, clinical and operational leads to promote good working relationships with all members of the MDT
- To provide high visibility leadership, driving forward team developments by personal example, fostering good interpersonal relationships and encouraging high staff morale
- Maintain clinical credibility demonstrated through undertaking clinical practice at a frequency agreed with Senior Management Team/Service Manager. May hold a small caseload, depending on service needs.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Mental Health Nurse with NMC professional Registration appropriate to the job role or Health Visiting Specialist Professional Registration with entry onto relevant part of NMC register
- Evidence of continuing and recent post-registration CPD relevant to the service area and compliance with NMC revalidation
Desirable criteria
- Experience and/or evidence of formal courses and training at post graduate diploma level
- Qualification / training in supervision
- Leadership or management training or qualification (or demonstrable experience)
- Further training in a specific psychological model / intervention specific to the role remit/area of work
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of effectively initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating operational processes.
- Evidence of improving service delivery in line with evidence based practice.
- Demonstrable experience of effective multi-disciplinary team working.
- Extensive Clinical experience of working therapeutically with pre-school children with significant emotional or behavioural difficulties, and their families and carers.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience of inputting into Health Roster system ( or equivalent electronic system to input staff absence, sickness etc)
- Experience of delivering group work, particularly parenting programmes
- Experience with deliverying attachment-based assessments and interventions
Skills
Essential criteria
- Higher level clinical skills in the assessment, treatment and management of patients of the relevant age group.
- Management and supervision skills.
Desirable criteria
- Experience or knowledge of using specialist assessment tools such as CORC outcome tools (SDQ, Goal based Outcomes)
- Formal training in the supervision of other clinicians
Personal attributes
Essential criteria
- Be a reflective practitioner and develop own competence and support others to do so.
- Acts as a role model in the delivery of high quality, effective patient care.
