The CT scanning department currently has 9 state of the art CT scanners, providing support to a wide range of referrers, including the level 1 Major Trauma centre, Vascular and Neuro intervention, Paediatric, Musculo-skeletal, Cardiac and Oncology services. We pride ourselves on the breadth of our clinical workload and expertise delivering the full range of CT examinations.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team based within CT to help ensure the delivery of efficient and safe patient flows for the CT examinations.

The applicant must have previous experience of working in a busy well organised environment and preferably within the NHS 

The applicant must have achieved Mathematics and English  Level 2 

The individual must have interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

This post involves shift work including long days, nights, weekend and bank holiday working.

There is a requirement to be IT literate and to review the Radiology Information System regularly throughout the duty to monitor the CT attendance list, especially with reference to A&E and Inpatients CT referrals.

Your day to day role will include: organising CT lists including maintaining patient flows in A&E, liaising with wards regarding inpatients, assisting Radiographers and/or Radiologists during CT examinations, cannulating patients and undertaking observation checks.

The successful candidate must be proactive, dynamic and keen to fulfil the responsibilities of the CT Imaging Department Assistant role as specified in the Job Description.
