Job overview

The University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust is looking to appoint a Building Maintenance Assistant to be an active member of the Estates Department at County Hospital.  We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic individual, who can work on their own and also as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

Your duties will include carrying out maintenance and repairs to the building, plumbing and joinery aspects of the hospital sites as well as providing a flexible approach to other disciplines when required. You will be stationed principally at County Hospital site working 5 days a week from 8.00am to 4.00pm but may be required to work at other sites belonging to or serviced by the UHNM and take part in an on-call system.   • Sound secondary education with evidence of training in a building/construction/plumbing discipline
Desirable criteria
  • City & Guilds in a Building Craft Operation

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience within Building/Plumbing /Construction operation
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience within a Health Service context
