Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Admin Assistant based in the Elderly Care Department at County Hospital.
This is an exciting post for someone looking to join the NHS and work within an experienced secretarial team in a hospital environment.
The post holder will need to demonstrate good communication skills, flexibility, reliability and have an organised approach to their work.
The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to enable them to support the patient pathway.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support a team of Band 4 Medical Secretaries and Band 3 Medical Support Secretaries to provide a safe and reliable administrative service.
The post holder will be responsible for communicating information, both written and verbal, with patients, staff and carers requiring tact and diplomacy. The post holder will also be responsible for handling telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement and acquired knowledge to assess each situation and to deal with accordingly.
The post holder will be expected to maintain good working relationships and work as an effective team member, to ensure their own work is of a high standard and to share the day-to-day workload of the specialty team.
