We have an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to progress their career in Management. 

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Operational Services Manager to join the General Surgery Management Team, this will be in the Urology Department.

This post offers an excellent opportunity for development, gaining exposure to a wide range of operational issues within the General Surgery Directorate.

 

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who would like to develop within a management role that is able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal and communication skills, with the ability to forge and maintain relationships. The ability to manage a busy workload, prioritise and focus on critical issues when decision making is essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to have some experience of working in an acute Trust and of operational management skills and experience of managing admin teams as part of current role.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Good standard of education to include GCSE’s/or equivalent in English and mathematics
Desirable criteria
  • Intermediate level qualification or equivalent experience

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • 2 years experience of working in an acute Trust
  • Ability to support service delivery to patients including management of waiting lists.
  • Leadership and team building skills Ability to work in a high pressured environment & work to deadlines
Desirable criteria
  • Able to develop strong multidisciplinary relationships
  • Previous experience working in a Health Care environment.
  • Ability to work in a demanding, pressured environment

Personal Qualities

Essential criteria
  • Consistently professional, collaborative and compassionate in their approach. Works with patients and people at the fore – operates to a customer service ethos
  • Takes responsibility and is accountable for delivering to their agree objectives
Desirable criteria
  • Commitment to own personal development, undertake necessary training
  • Supervisory experience of one or more persons in the work environment.
