The successful applicant will work within an established and experienced MDT to provide psychological intervention to service users within the Parent and Baby Service. You will also have close links with Lotus, the Maternal Mental Health Service.
We offer excellent clinical supervision and support. There are a wide range of CPD opportunities available. The post will be based at the Parent and Baby Unit in Shelton, Stoke on Trent, however this is a hybrid role with the option for some remote working.
You will be supported by the Consultant, Principal and Senior Clinical Psychologists within the team, joining an experienced and friendly Multi-Disciplinary Team. You will also work closely with our Specialist Psychological Therapists and our Assistant Psychologist.
Perinatal mental health services are expanding nationally and we are fully prepared to support clinicians who are moving to a new speciality, as well as welcoming those who are experienced in perinatal mental health.
Main duties of the job
This is a preceptorship post where we will support development into a Senior Clinical Psychologist post. Alternatively, we will consider appointment into a Senior Clinical Psychologist post if this is more suited to the successful candidate.
The Parent and Baby Day Service is a specialist perinatal secondary mental health service. The service is interested in the prevention, detection and management of perinatal problems that complicate pregnancy and the postpartum year. These problems can include new difficulties, recurrences of previous difficulties, and those women who have existing mental health problems. The team at the Parent and Baby Day Service provides a comprehensive service of high intensity with customised treatments for parents with psychological disorders associated with pregnancy and childbirth. Psychology is well integrated, valued and respected by the team.
Lotus provide support for women/birthing people and their families who are looking for help with their mental health which has been significantly affected by pregnancy loss, tokophobia, birth trauma or trauma in a neonatal care setting. This service is psychology led and includes specialist midwifery within the MDT.
