Job overview

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

The post holder is required to provide a comprehensive, administrative support service to the Staffordshire Lung Cancer Screening Programme. The post holder will be required to demonstrate a level of initiative in organising her/his own workload in taking decisions and actions. 

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for ensuring effective communication systems are in place with the Staffordshire Lung Cancer Screening Team and to be the main point of contact for all enquiries in relation to the Lung Cancer Screening Programme, including liaising with patients.

There is a requirement to exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers, requiring tact and diplomacy. 

·        Liaise with patients.

·      There will be requirement to exercise judgement when dealing with patient inquiries with the need to analyse and resolve patient problems.

·        The post holder will be required to demonstrate a significant level of initiative in organising his/her own workload in taking decisions and action, some of which will be without the immediate advice of Operational Services Manager.

·        The post holder will prioritise and plan workload and organise own time.

·        To support the general administration of the Lung Cancer screening programme, liaising with all team members, other departments and external bodies as required.

  ·      To support the scheduling & booking of patient’s appointments of CT mobile, Royal Stoke & County UHNM sites

·        To support the Engagement & Marketing Lead with Health Inequality activities by supporting & engaging in community Lung Screening Events

·        Supervised by Lung Cancer Screening Operational Services Manager.

·        To support the Operational Service Manager with streamlining & smooth running of Staffordshire Lugn Cancer Screening Programme

·        A full induction programme takes place with all new staff to the programme.

·        Peer supervision is carried out with the administrators to support each other and review tasks and service developments.

·        Team meetings take place to address service change and policy updates.
