Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a enthusiastic and dynamic CSW to join our Nurse Led Pre-operative Assessment team.

You will be flexible, committed to maintaining and improving high standards of patient care and experience. We assess elective patients from multiple specialties to ensure that they are safe and fully optimised for General anaesthetic.

The purpose of this role is to support the comprehensive preoperative clinical assessment process, including undertaking clinical skills such as phlebotomy, screening and ECG's

Main duties of the job

Supporting clinic activity in Pre-operative clinics at UHNM, some of the main duties include:

ECG's

Phlebotomy

Pathogen Screening

Patient Observations

Participation in clinical audit

Stores/stock management

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GSCE level or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English
  • Hold a Care Certificate
  • Working towards Vocational qualification in a care environment
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level 2

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 12 months care experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstration of a willingness to learn and develop
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in an Acute Hospital setting
