Band 6 Specialist Community Public Health Nurse- School Nurse
The City 0-19 Health Visiting and School Nursing Service South West Locality have a permanent, year round part time 18.75 hours vacancy for a School Nurse. We are looking for a School Nurse who lives the values and behaviours of our trust. We are seeking a person who will be caring and compassionate providing excellent support to parents and their families, having the ability to actively listen and have a warm approachable manner. You will lead by example and encourage effective team working, someone who wants to develop others and ensure the best outcomes for our children and families, which are achieved through evidence based practice. In return you will be professionally supported and empowered to deliver a child friendly service within the 5-19 element of the service. We are a friendly team and we welcome experienced or a newly qualified School Nurse to join our diverse team, where you will be supported in your induction program.
Main duties of the job
- Be competent as appropriate to the requirements of role
- Work within their scope of practice
- Demonstrate at all times the Values of Midlands Partnership
- Be a Specialist Community Public Health Practitioner. They will be a specialist practitioner and have a focus in public health across the 0-19 agenda.
- Be responsible for a defined population of service users in a variety of settings across the Partnership Trust.
- Be skilled in the assessment of children and young people’s care/support needs and in the development, implementation and evaluation of care/support
- Have supervisory, training and leadership responsibilities where appropriate and will have some responsibility for team performance and service developments/improvements.
- Demonstrate initiative and be creative in finding solutions
- Work with the team leader undertaking delegated tasks in team management
- To deliver commissioned aspects of the Healthy Child Programme, ensuring key objectives and outcomes are met.
