We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Speciality Grade Dr to join our Community CAMHS teams across Stoke on Trent. Stoke-on-Trent is a unique city in England. It is made up of six distinct towns – affectionately known as "THE POTTERIES". It has excellent commuter links but benefits from being within easy reach of beautiful countryside

As a Specialty grade Doctor working in our Community CAMHS Team, you will work alongside the experienced multi-disciplinary teams, aspiring to provide excellent care to enable our patients to fulfil their recovery goals and work towards discharge to the life they want.

The Specialty Doctor has a key role in working cohesively with a supervising consultant, nursing team and wider MDT to deliver best outcomes for complex group of young people with challenging presentations.

You will play a key role in assessment, formulation, and management of a diverse range of mental health presentations, contributing to clinical decision making and care planning. The post offers opportunities to develop specialist interests and actively shape service delivery.

 

Main duties of the job

The Stoke CAMHS team are well-established multi-disciplinary teams that work with children and young people aged 0 – 18 years. 

The North and South Stoke Teams comprise of Multi-disciplinary teams inclusive of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, social work, OT, DBT and CBT therapists.   The teams make up two of our Community CAMHS teams within NSCHT providing outstanding services to Children and Young people across the City.

Due to the specialist nature of this service, the Specialty Doctor has a key role in providing evidence-based assessment and treatment under direct supervision and support from the consultant.

The post-holder reports to the supervising Consultant.  Given the acuity and high turnover, post holder will be expected to take initiative within the remit of their role.

The role is 10PA’s and proposals for flexible arrangements are welcome. There is no on call requirement.

 It is expected that the post-holder will display flexibility around working hours if matters of clinical safety require this. Funding is available centrally for courses and conferences in line with requirements of your CPD. There is specified study leave for achieving PDP in line with CPD. Attendance at doctors meetings on site or within the Trust is expected and encouraged.
