Senior Staff Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced critical care nurse wishing to further their career within the speciality.

Main duties of the job

We are a 36-bedded Critical Care Unit that provides care for seriously ill patients from across a range of medical and surgical specialities including neurosurgery and major trauma. The University Hospital of North Midlands is one of the designated Major Trauma Centres within the West Midlands. We provide the highest standards of care for patients who have sustained traumatic brain and spinal injuries.

We are looking to appoint a Senior Staff Nurse to join the team for a 12 month fixed-term/secondment contract.  If you meet the shortlisting criteria, are highly motivated, professional, supportive and can work under pressure within a team, then we would like to hear from you.

  • NMC registration
  • Critical Care Course
  • Mentorship or equivalent
  • Evidence of Degree Level Study
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of study at Masters Level

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 3 years Critical Care experience
  • Evidence of supporting learning/education in practice
  • Evidence of effective communication skills
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of management/leadership experience
  • Evidence of being involved in Quality Improvement
