Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ward 111 team.

We are a unit that comprises of 28 beds and care for the needs of patients under the specialities of ENT, Maxio -facial, Onco plastics and plastic surgery, general surgery and ophthalmology.

We are looking for a senior clinical nursing assistant band 3 that has a caring nature and the skills to care for a complex group of patients that include tracheostomy care and laryngectomy care.   Further more be motivated to complete competencies in this area of care.   Therefore you  must have previous caring experience and have a understanding of the proud to care documentation and its importance in maintaining patient safety and quality.

You are  required  to cover over a 24 hour period - therefore the post holder must be able to work  both night  and day shifts.  It is imperative that you can work night shifts.

You need to be able to prioritise your work load, be able to work as a member of a team, be professional at all times, communicate well and have good time management.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and well-being of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and  compassion. They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses. Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Workers should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies at UHNM. They will be required to undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
