Job overview

We are looking for a committed Therapy Radiographer to join our friendly, enthusiastic and patient focused Radiotherapy Team in our Cancer Centre. 

The department has a full range of equipment including 4 Varian Linear Accelerators including 2 Halcyon Linacs, all with OBI, Gulmay Orthovoltage / Superficial Unit, Siemens CT Scanner, and Brachytherapy suite, networked through Aria and connected with the Eclipse planning system. Mould room services are radiographer led.

In common with most departments we deliver IMRT, IGRT, SABR, HDR Brachytherapy, Superficial treatments and Electrons. All staff upon completing their competencies are authorised to review and optimise treatments through appropriate imaging.

The department delivers Radiotherapy to a wide range of indications for adults. All staff are encouraged to be involved in developments in the department and are supported to develop their skills and knowledge.

The department is committed to the training and development of its staff and you will be given opportunities to extend your skills. The department expects staff to Continuously Professionally Develop, supporting this through the PDP appraisal system and supportive educational funding for professional development.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the Therapeutic Radiography team rotating through all sections of the department, under the supervision of the section leader. To deliver a high quality, accurate radiotherapy service, which is responsive to the social and healthcare needs of the individual patient. To deputise for advanced practitioners as required. To supervise junior staff and students.

  • HCPC Registered
Desirable criteria
  • Currently Working in the UK

Knowledge

  • Experience with Varian
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current legislation
  • Experience in treating advanced techniques
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in brachytherapy

Personal Qualities
